How to Manage your Time like a CEO

Many of us have that moment at the end of the working day when we wished we possessed the superhuman power to create more hours in the day.
Unfortunately, this is not a reality.

However, we do have strategies to maximise our productivity. Our simple strategies are used by some of the most successful people in the world allowing them to deliver incredible results and meet their goals.

It’s simply about prioritization, managing your schedule and tracking your progress.

Scroll down to read tips for managing your time like a CEO and make the most out of the hours you have in the working day!

2 Minute Rule:

If you have a task on your to-do-list that can be done in less than 2 minutes, then do it. It could be replying to an email, making a call. These tasks will be larger to schedule in once you get caught up in larger projects, so do them when you are in the moment then they are done

Give yourself time for Deep Thinking:

Schedule a meeting with your mind. It’s hard to build on a creative thought when often it is interrupted by other tasks. Give creativity all the attention and respect you would give to another person. So figure out when you are feeling most creative through the day and pencil it in.

Be Merciless with your Time:

Every minute you dedicate to a project, a meeting with another person or daily task has an opportunity cost.

One less minute you get to spend doing something else, time you get to exercise or be with friends and family etc. While a lot of meetings can generate fantastic plans and results, a lot of the time spent in internal meetings can be unnecessary. Most meetings can be 15 minutes or less, reviews may be longer.

Be aware of the minutes you are allocating, and then guard them with your life.

Avoid Multitasking LIKE THE PLAGUE

A study at Stanford University (https://news.stanford.edu/2009/08/24/multitask-research-study-082409/) in the United States provides evidence to suggest that addressing tasks one at a time is more productive than trying to do multiple tasks at a time. The human brain can only process so many thoughts at once.

If you want to perform a task well and also be able to draw upon it later, it is better to do a single task at a time.

Lastly, Create a System, and then work within it.
Put simply we are creatures of habit, if we can form good habits it modes well for achievement
